Sophomore year

It's been a ridiculous amount of time since I posted. Mostly this is due to homework, the newspaper (being news editor is an interesting task), applications for summer study and study abroad, studying Arabic, and general social life cutting into LJ time. But I just turned 20 in Chicago on break, and I felt it was time to update a little bit. More will come soon!

Writer's Block: James Cameron’s AVATAR

James Cameron’s AVATAR is in theaters today. What about this movie interests you the most?

I read a really long article about Avatar and James Cameron's history in the New Yorker the other week. I"m excited about it because I've heard a lot of good things, and because Cameron is a lefty, and because I haven't seen a movie in what seems like months but what is definitely weeks and hopefully it'll be one of the first things I do when I go home for a month with no work whatsover. Yay :D

o mio dio.

Lago Del Bosco!
I have now been here a week, and a week of orientation. In my cabin are little girls of 8-10 years, and they are very adorable albeit somewhat annying sometimes, especially during naptime when they do not want to sleep. I love my colleagues, they are super fun and nice, but I miss Sammy!
I can't believe that when I get back, I'll be in COLLEGE. GAH!

So I really, REALLY enjoyed the pilot of GLEE, like a lot, and now I am off to graduation rehearsal at the Providence Cathedral. :)

Writer's Block: End of the World as We Know It

Robert Frost speculated about the world ending in fire or in ice. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

Well, if we believe Kurt Vonnegut, it will end with ice.. ice-nine. I enjoyed that book a lots. Also the Fountainhead, although, hello... crazy insane woman! Still.

This (on the Livejournal homepage) makes me cry.

"In Plain Sight
Tune into this compelling drama about the witnesses & Marshal’s in the Witness Protection Program. Season 2 premieres Sunday, April 19 at 10/9C on USA Network."

AfterElton.com thumbs up for 2008:

SUPERNATURAL: Am I a bad person because “wincest” is my new favorite word? God bless slash fiction!
